Ron Barceló has incorporated every year since 2016 the procedures to (A) quantify, (B) reduce and (C) offset its carbon emissions; and in in July 2019,  the company obtaining the Carbon Neutral Certification from SGS, both for the life cycle of its products and for its organization.

Given the scope and specifications of this initiative, RON BARCELÓ has become: 

(1)  The first rum in the world with a Carbon Neutral & ISO14067 Certification and a Bilan Carbone® license. 

(2)  The first company in the Dominican Republic with a Carbon Neutral & ISO14064-1 Certification, based on the NORDOM 798 criteria and with Bilan Carbone® license. 

After obtaining this certification, the products carry the label “Carbon Neutral – ISO14067 Product” as well as the legend “Certified by SGS” & “Bilan Carbone® License”. 

This initiative makes RON BARCELÓ a pioneer in the rum sector and a role model for agribusiness.
