The Cibao International Airport has obtained in July the accreditation of Level 3 of the Airport Carbon Accreditation program, which refers to the optimization in the reduction of emissions in control of the airport, but also of its tenants.
Among the verified measures are an improvement in waste management for recycling both in the terminal and in internal areas of the AIC, the reduction of aircraft taxi times, as well as the supply of renewable energy to third parties.
With this recognition, the AIC reaffirms its national leadership in this sector with the next objective of becoming the first carbon neutral airport in the Dominican Republic in 2021.
